Future Analytics Consulting (FAC) is an innovative, multidisciplinary SME which specialises in the areas of spatial planning, research and development, economic and socio-economic analysis. Founded in 2010, and benefitting from the extensive academic and commercial experience of its senior personnel, FAC has gone from strength to strength in the intervening period.
FAC is actively engaged in the area of European research and development, and is presently participating in six European Commission projects investigating a diverse range of topics. FAC has a special interest in the area of integrating security/safety and wider resilience into the urban environment and planning process. Within the security sphere, it coordinates FP7 project HARMONISE and is a partner in VITRUV, BESECURE and INTACT. FAC has enhanced its expertise further through cooperation in projects such as INDICATE, which covers energy efficiency in urban environments, and within COBACORE and S-HELP, which relate to crisis/emergency management and disaster recovery.
FAC is contributing to the research and development of improving post disaster response and recovery methods, enhancing emergency service response tools, and creating methodologies to assess the sustainability of urban areas with regard to the energy consumption of their built infrastructure.
In July 2012, FAC was one of the recipients of the Enterprise Ireland/President Michael D. Higgins ‘Ireland’s Champions of EU Research’ Awards as one of the most successful SME’s in Ireland in securing R&D funding under the EU FP7 programme. In addition to their activities in the sphere of consortium-based EU FP7 projects,
FAC is also active in the area of domestic research and development work. Utilising the company’s extensive expertise in socio-economic analysis, FAC has recently participated in a number of national research projects, providing statistically referenced evaluations on the development status and socio-economic performance of a number of regions, cities and towns throughout Ireland.
